Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information gathered during a visit, the reasons it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By using Henderson County Criminal History, you agree to these privacy practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool passes to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its own results. Henderson County Criminal History does not keep a separate log of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained long enough to review and answer it. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

Page requests create routine technical records. Those records can include:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • The referring site, when available
  • Browser name and version
  • Device category and operating system
  • Internet Protocol address
  • Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files saved by a browser. They help measure traffic patterns, popular pages, and where visits end. Analytics providers may combine that activity into summary reports. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Routing a search request to the provider that handles it
  • Diagnosing faults and improving load performance
  • Operating and securing the website
  • Measuring which resources visitors use
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Henderson County Criminal History does not compile, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its content identifies official routes such as the Henderson Circuit Clerk, Henderson County Sheriff's Office, Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, and Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. A provider's privacy terms govern information entered there, including its retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before sending a query because this policy does not control the provider.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Henderson County offices, Kentucky courts and agencies, legal resources, or outside tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's own privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.

Advertising companies may also use their systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not control that tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

  • Analytics vendors that measure use and performance
  • Search providers that receive a visitor's query
  • Advertising networks that deliver ads
  • A government or law-enforcement body acting under valid legal process

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so a loss, breach, or unauthorized access remains possible despite those measures.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. A verified report of such data will be reviewed for deletion.

Your Data Rights

Rights may depend on the law that applies to a visitor. Kentucky's Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, governs access to public-agency records, while KRS 17.169 addresses criminal-history information. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government records custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:

  • Request access to personal information held about the visitor
  • Ask that inaccurate visitor information be corrected
  • Request deletion where the law permits it
  • Object to certain processing where an applicable law provides that choice

Updates to This Policy
